In a previous Question of the Month, we discussed the changes to the definition of facing downrange, but we have observed that there is still some confusion about what the definition of facing uprange is. For July, we showed a picture of a competitor in a facing uprange start position, and asked if he was in the correct position. The results indicated that we chose a good topic to explore.

We have added a new feature to the NROI blog called Rules FAQ. Yes, it’s a collection of questions we get asked, you guessed it, frequently. We have all done it, some more than others. We have read a rule and then tried to parse it down to every single word in the process of understanding it. And sometimes that makes folks second guess what the rule actually means, or makes a rule mean what they want or think it should mean. Stop it!

After the “Are you ready?” command, but before the start signal, the competitor fires the PCC and the shot impacts the rear berm. As the RO, what is your call?
