Classifiers and Special Classifier Matches

The USPSA Classification system is a way to compare your skill level to other members and track your progress. The stages have been designed to test your shooting skills against high hit factors that have been set in each division. There are differences in the hit factors between divisions because each division is somewhat unique based on the allowed gear and firearms.

Interference

It happens to all Range Officers now and then. Something you weren’t prepared for happens and you, someone, or something, somehow interferes with the competitor and you wind up having to offer them a reshoot. Note I said “offer them” a reshoot. Recall that interference is the only optional reshoot in our sport.

NROI Tips – Gear Position

Recent changes in the USPSA Competition rules regarding the distance from the belt, and the height relative to the belt for all divisions have brought about a few questions. In this NROI Tips video concerning gear positioning, we show you some guidelines for determining the proper placement of a competitor’s gun, holster, magazine holders and all associated equipment.

New Rulings: Competition, Multigun, Steel Challenge

There are a few new rulings up for voting by the board.  Most of them are simple clarifications of existing rules, adjustments to the wording on some, and additions to one rule set so that it mirrors the others, particularly covering safety issues that should be common to the three rule sets.  None of them affect equipment types.  Here’s a short summary:

Double Jeopardy

Although our sport is fundamentally a freestyle activity, and most stages allow the shooter to choose his/her shooting solution, some shooter actions are affected by stage procedures listed in the Written Stage Briefing.
