Chassis Based Handgun-PCC Conversions

October 24, 2024 by Troy McManus

In the September/October issue of USPSA Magazine, a paragraph in my column noted that a certain type of “chassis conversion” of a handgun to a PCC wasn’t legal.  The USPSA Board of Directors disagreed with this decision, and I notified the competitors in question that their particular conversion was legal to use in the PCC division.  The article was written and submitted in advance of the discussion and subsequent decision by the board.  There was no ruling issued stating that they were illegal in PCC Division. I regret any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

Schrodinger’s PCC Flag

August 5, 2021 by Jodi Humann

We have received multiple questions about whether a PCC that is transported between stages in a case and is only out of the case during the COF needs to be flagged. So, for the July Question of the Month we posed the following question: A PCC competitor comes to the line with a cased PCC. After you give the Make Ready command, he opens the case and you see a PCC with the bolt locked back and no chamber flag inserted. What do you do?

Where’s your chamber flag?

May 27, 2021 by Jodi Humann

Often, my ideas for posts come from questions asked at matches. This particular question came up at two separate matches over the last couple weeks. What happens if a PCC competitor comes to the line without a chamber flag? We are not talking about someone who had a flag in and removed it, we are talking about a competitor who uncased a PCC and came directly to the line without a flag. What is the call? Both times it was brought up, the ROs thought it would be a DQ, but is it? Let’s look at what the rules say.

Where can PCC casing/uncasing occur?

July 8, 2019 by Jodi Humann

There is still some confusion about PCC casing and uncasing in relation to where and when it can be done and what can/cannot be done in designated PCC casing/uncasing areas.
