NROI has updated the application process for the Range Master program. In the past, applications have been received and evaluated throughout the year, but now applications will only be accepted between November 1 and December 31 of each year. With a limited number of instructors, this timing allows for current students to complete their program during Nationals events throughout the year and make room for new students at the first of the year.
RM program applicants must have been a CRO for at least two years and have significant experience working major matches which are recorded on their NROI Work Record. Major match work experience must include acting as CRO and preferably serving as RM or assistant-RM at Level II or higher matches.
The application process will also be moving online and allow for payment of the $100 application fee via credit card. Applicants will be required to provide the contact information for three references who are certified USPSA range officials. A short 300-word essay about what it means to be a RM will also be required.
More details about the application process, requirements, and the course structure can be found on the USPSA website.
