We are all on the same team

As major match season winds down, we are all sharing stories about things that have happened at matches. We hear talk about the stage designs, about the prize tables, about the food on the range, the tight races for the top competitors, things that happened at chronograph, and about match staff. It’s always appreciated when Match Directors and Range Masters get positive reviews and comments about match staff. But it is very frustrating when negative comments are brought up post-match and nothing was said during the match.

Steel Yourself

Everyone knows that PractiScore defaults to all steel hit, so you only have to enter any misses on steel targets, which in most cases is handy because it saves an input touch or multiple touches. Those multiple touches can in turn create errors in scoring. But the same feature can, if not properly attended to, also cause errors without any input on steel.

The Ins-and-Outs of USPSA Certified Ammunition

USPSA has a certified ammunition program, where competitors can purchase ammunition from a USPSA certified manufacturer, whether from a secondary retail outlet (storefront or internet), or directly from the manufacturer.  This ammo may be purchased and brought to the match or shipped directly to the match.

Fixed Time isn’t hard to score

Before we dive too deep into this post, I want you to say with me, “Fixed Time is Virginia Count with a time limit.” The only penalty unique to Fixed Time is the overtime shot, which we will discuss in a bit.
