For years, the title of Range Master Instructor, which is a certification level within NROI, was handled in a selection process that mostly mirrors the document published here but wasn’t codified in any way. On a very few occasions, the potential instructor was simply invited to join the group. In almost all cases the RMI group had input as to the selection and qualification of the instructor. This document is designed and intended to establish a more objective, specific process for RMI selection, maintenance, and discipline if warranted, and to provide information to the members of USPSA about the criteria for selection as a Range Master Instructor. The requirements for maintaining that certification, as well as the process for losing it, are also spelled out. In addition, there is additional information regarding general NROI/RMI procedures for RMI training, seminars, participation at National Championships, expense reimbursement, and conduct.
