Safety is a Range Officers number one job, no doubt, but we are officiating a competition, and for there to be a competition, there must be a score. NROI has updated the application process for the Range Master program. In the past, applications have been received and evaluated throughout the year, but now applications will only be accepted between November 1 and December 31 of each year. With a limited number of instructors, this timing allows for current students to complete their program during Nationals events throughout the year and make room for new students at the first of the year.

Many NROI certified Range Officials are deservedly proud of their accomplishments, and we recognize that. We recently, with our partner, TechWear USA, made official NROI jerseys available. Judging by the number of orders received, those jerseys are a big hit, and rightly so—they are attractive and comfortable, and a great way to show off your NROI certification. The USPSA Classification system is a way to compare your skill level to other members and track your progress. The stages have been designed to test your shooting skills against high hit factors that have been set in each division. There are differences in the hit factors between divisions because each division is somewhat unique based on the allowed gear and firearms.

The first match is the Production/L10 match, and will run from November 3-5. First room night for staff for the first match is Friday, November 1.
