What NROI is grateful for

November 28, 2024 by Jodi Humann

Since our posts come out on Thursdays and this week is Thanksgiving, it does give us an opportunity to reflect on what NROI is thankful for. There are many things, but I will keep the list short so you all can return to turkey and football.

1.) All our volunteer range officials! Between all our certification levels and both the USPSA and SCSA certification types, we have about 5,800 range officials. This works out to 15.1% of the USPSA membership. Our certified range officials help keep our matches safe, fair and fun! Don’t forget to thank the range officials (that includes match directors) who help make the matches you shoot possible. If matches are not well run and officiated, there is no USPSA.

2.) The Range Master Instructors. Our RMIs have traveled to teach 64 RO, CRO, and SCRO classes so far this year. That is approximately 588 hours of instruction for the RO seminar, 108 hours for the CRO seminar, and 36 hours for the SCRO seminar. This is in addition to the hours of travel it takes to go and return from the seminars. The time investment by our instructors and students is greatly appreciated. And the students enjoy the ability to interact with the instructors in-person and get all their “what if” questions answered.

3.) All the readers and listeners of the NROI products. While the RO, CRO, and SCRO seminars and maintaining the rulebooks are the main outputs for NROI, we also want to thank the many certified range officials and even uncertified folks who read the NROI Blog and listen to the NROI Podcast. We didn’t know if these two items would make a difference, but the feedback we get shows they do. Keep listening and reading and sending in your questions to rules@uspsa.org.
