NROI jersey Q&A

September 17, 2026 by Jodi Humann

It’s been awhile since we talked about official NROI jerseys and when it’s appropriate to wear them. Let’s answer the usual questions we get.

Q: I just became a RO and want to order an official NROI jersey. Where can I get one?

A: Log into the USPSA website and go to this link: https://uspsa.org/nroi/shirts. That page has a password and link to the NROI jersey page on the Zero Sports website. This page is only accessible to USPSA members who are certified Range Officials.

Q: I see different colors of NROI jerseys. What do the colors mean?

A: The colors indicate the number of years members have been certified Range Officials. The gray, subdued, and black variations are available for all years. The colors indicating years of certification are: light blue is 5-9 years, olive green is 10-14 years, yellow is 15-20 years, dark blue is 21-25 years, black-gold is 26-30 years, and 31 plus years is purple.

Q: When can I wear the NROI jerseys?

A: If you are at a match working as an appointed Range Official, you can wear the jersey (see 7.3.2 in all rulebooks). If you are only at the match as a competitor, you cannot wear anything with the NROI insignia larger than a small symbol on the sleeve. You or your jersey vendor will need to seek permission from NROI before adding it to the jersey . The jersey must not attempt to identify you as a range official serving at that match.

Q: We can get rockers on the jersey sleeves indicating if we are a RO, CRO or RM. Can I wear my jersey with the CRO rocker if I am only working as a RO at the match?

A: Yes! We want our Range Officials to be able to brag about their certification levels. However, just remember to do the job you are assigned to do at the match and not what is on your sleeve. e.g. If you are certified RM and are working as a RO on a stage, don’t make calls/decisions that the RM for the match should be making.
