Help Wanted/Looking for Work

February 18, 2021 by Troy McManus

Did you know you can set up a way to get notified when matches near you need Range Officials? As part of the new notification system, you can opt in to receive notifications when Match Directors put in a request for help using the Form C system.

Here’s how: Go to www.uspsa.org, and log in to your account. Then, click on your member number, and then on Notifications –> Manage Notifications. There are many items you can choose to be notified about, but at the very bottom is the one for staff requests. Opt in for that one and you are all set.

If you are a Match Director looking for help, once you’ve filed a Form C for your match, you can go to Club Resources –> Add Stage Designs To Form C –> then scroll down to Request RO Help For This Event. Fill in the details and then hit “Send Request”. Any certified RO within 500 miles of your match who has requested notifications for this will receive a notice via email. Here’s what it looks like:

This feature also works for Steel Challenge, with the same sequence at www.scsa.org to get into the RO request for help.

Speaking of help for matches, USPSA has a new Nationals Staff Application.  This new feature streamlines the initial application process, and makes staff applications available to several people for review.  What makes it different, you ask?  Well, for one thing, you simply click on the match you want to apply for, read and acknowledge the associated documentation, and your basic USPSA information, including your NROI work record, is auto-filled.  All you have to do is confirm that your address, etc., are correct and hit submit.  Then, upon review, your application will either be accepted, put on standby, or rejected (we can’t take everybody).  Accepted and Standby applicants will then receive an email asking for more information, with a link to accomplish this.  LOCAP Nationals and the WSSC are fully staffed at this time, but if you are interested in applying for any of the other National Championships: The Sig Sauer 2Gun PCC/Pistol Nationals, The Blue Bullets PCC/CO Nationals and the Infinity Firearms Race Gun Nationals, go here: https://uspsa.org/nroi/nationals/application.

Matches don’t happen without help, so if you like shooting USPSA or Steel Challenge matches, volunteering as staff is an excellent way to contribute to their continued success.
